The Green God

Laughing at your avarice

Laughing at your guilt

The Green God sits impassive

In the house your pride has built

Laughing at your cravings

Laughing at your needs

The Green God sits in house of worship

Built by dead mens greed

Laughing at your virtue

Laughing at your vice

The Green God sits and chortles

But offers no advice

Laughing at your guilt

Laughing at your fear

The Green God laughs as loud as thunder

But mortal ears can’t hear
